101 An Al Fresco Progressive Dinner with Jamie Maw $Priceless
There is only one way to go on this Kelowna food and travel experience and that’s with the expert himself: Jamie Maw, former Food & Travel editor of Vancouver Magazine, BC Restaurant Hall of Fame, founder of the Chefs’ Table Society of BC, a judge on Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen and now, the co-founder of the Okanagan’s own GoGo Magazine.
The Master Chefs at these fine dining establishments can easily hold their own and have nothing to fear under the scrutiny and reputed wrath of Jamie Maw, though—he’s taking the night off to enjoy the best of the Okanagan, and to explain the backstory of our ingredient-driven cuisine!
Your party of eight will begin this entertaining evening in a luxurious stretch Black Tie Limousine arriving in style at Kelowna’s landmark Hotel Eldorado. No visit to the El is complete without their signature martinis and tapas, prepared by recently-arrived Executive Chef Michael Lyon for an al fresco evening beginning on the lake.
A short stroll down the boardwalk, Executive Chef Bernard Casavant of Manteo Resort and an inductee into the BC Restaurant Hall of Fame, welcomes you to Wild Apple Restaurant. The first course features Chef’s ‘Wine Country Cuisine’ using freshest and seasonal local ingredients for which Sommelier Erika Staffanson will provide the perfect wine pairing.
Just across the street at Cabana Bar & Grille, Celebrity Chef Ned Bell of Food Network TV fame is dialled in for the entrée. You are sure to enjoy outstanding food at this oasis for rustic and decidedly regional cuisine.
Where better for dessert than the cozy and romantic atmosphere of The Fixx where Chef Lisa Cham ensures superior service and freshly prepared gourmet ingredients. Rest assured that something truly decadent will finish off this gourmet dining experience.
And then to cap things off, it’s off to ‘Club 208’, a.k.a. the home of Jamie Maw and Yvonne Drinovz at Abbott House.
