Introduction to Ballet

Introduction to Ballet class is for absolute beginners, and we strongly encourage participants with no experience to take two terms of this level before advancing to Beginner Ballet. Each class will provide a sound foundation of classical ballet technique. Participants will explore ballet steps at the barre, as well as simple stationary combinations in the centre.

Beginner Ballet is for adults who have taken Introduction to Ballet or who have had at least two years of recent training in ballet. This class is also appropriate for adults who have taken at least three years of ballet as a child or teen.

Introduction to Contemporary
8 Session Term: Tuesdays
January 7 - February 25, 2025
Time: 7:45pm-9:15pm
Instructor: McKeely Borger
Introduction to Contemporary is for adults who are either currently enrolled or have taken the equivalent of our Intermediate Ballet or higher, or who have had recent training in ballet and contemporary (at least two years). This is also appropriate for adults who have taken at least four years of ballet as a child or teen. This class will incorporate the foundations of floor work and the ability to get up and down from the floor is required.
Introduction to Contemporary includes elements of ballet, modern, and lyrical dance. This class creates a safe place for participants to focus inward, explore, and connect! This 60-minute class begins with a warm-up that brings awareness to the body followed by a series of exercises in the centre, across the room, as well as floor work.

Advanced Ballet
8 Session Term: Thursdays
January 9 - March 6, 2025
Time: 6:00pm-7:30pm
Instructor: McKeely Borger
Advanced Ballet is for students who have taken Intermediate Ballet or who have had at least four years of recent ballet training. This class is also appropriate for adults who have taken at least five years of ballet as a child or teen.

8 Session Term: Thursdays
January 9 - March 6, 2025
Time: 6:00pm-8:00pm
Final 30 minutes of class reserved for Beginner Pointe work.

Intermediate Ballet is for adult students who have taken Beginner Ballet or who have had a least three years of recent ballet training. This class is also appropriate for adults who have taken at least four years of ballet as a child or teen. The Beginner Pointe class is offered from 7:30pm - 8:00pm for adult ballet students who have taken Introduction to Pointe for two terms and wish to build on what they have learned.

Time: 10:00am-12:00pm
Final 30 minutes of class reserved for Introduction to Pointe work.

Intermediate Ballet is for adult students who have taken Beginner Ballet or who have had a least three years of recent ballet training. This class is also appropriate for adults who have taken at least four years of ballet as a child or teen. The Introduction to Pointe class is offered from 11:30am - 12:00pm for adult ballet students who wish to take their training one step further.
